What is orienteering?

Orienteering is an outdoor adventure sport that combines your brain and body. Using a specially drawn map, you find your way between checkpoints (we also call them controls) marked by orange and white flags in parks, bushland, or urban areas, choosing your own route as you go.

Orienteering is a sport for all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. You can walk, jog, or run, it’s up to you! Some people come for fitness and competition, others for the challenge and joy of exploring new places.

Every course is different, so it’s a mix of physical activity, problem-solving, and adventure.
